Henric de la Cour’s solo album was a chilling and excellent effort, and now he’s poised to return with “Mandrills” (Progress Productions) in September. It was recorded in Barnhus Zoo Studios in Stockholm together with Henric’s former Yvonne bandmate Rikard Lindh, and is described as a “dark, dystopian journey that holds strong melodies”.
There’s also a movie about Henric in the works, premiering at the Way Out West festival in Gothenburg. It will also be shown on Swedish national television later in the year. The movie is made by Jacob Frösén, who has been following Henric for 4 years. It depicts his music throughout the years with Yvonne, Strip Music and his solo work, but also that Henric suffers from the disease cystic fibrosis which he was diagnosed with already as a child.
Check out the first track from “Mandrills” below, called “Chasing Dark”.
