This February, Montréal based electronic outfit Men Without Hats embark on their first European tour in 20 years. The tour starts in London on Friday and include Memmingen, Ingolstadt, Vienna, Cologne, Frankfurt, Hannover, Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Malmö and a final date in Release’s hometown Gothenburg on the 16th. After a US tour supporting Human League, MWH released “Love in the Age of War” in June 2012, inspired by their earliest analogue recordings. This album was produced by fellow Canadian Dave “Rave” Ogilvie.
Back in 1982, Men Without Hats did something unusual for a CanCon act, which was being signed to a UK label (Statik Records). After trying to overshadow the fame of their debut record, MWH evolved their music style into the early 1990:s and maintained an enthusiastic fan base.
