The second album by Vancouver new wave band Actors is ready. “Acts of Worship” (Artoffact) is scheduled for an October 1 release and can be pre-ordered now.
“Acts of Worship” has “driving beats, massive hooks, and dramatic atmospheres” and blends new wave, post-punk and dark pop.
- It’s about embracing who you are and having the confidence to do what you feel and not be afraid, Jason Corbett says. I made the first album without caring about who would hear it. I think people can feel honesty in music whether they realize it or not. The new album is exactly where I wanted to go with Actors. It expands on the last album lyrically and sonically.
With the addition of new bassist Kendall Wooding, the band has two female and two male members.
- It perfectly reflects the balance of masculine and feminine energy contained within the songs, Corbett thinks.
Actors will tour North America from September to December.
