Swedish EBM/synthpop trio Violent Gandhi, featuring among others former Release writer Anders Wiik, have reunited and announced they will be releasing something old as well as something new. A first taste is the brand new single, paradoxically titled “1990″. It’s a catchy, retro sounding synthpop piece, evolving them some 30 years later. The band, then Wiik solo, featured on Release’s very own compilation “Sounds from the Electric Café” as well as recording cassette demos. Their first, titled “Prototype” (1991) has become something of an underground favourite and collector’s item, just like synthpop demos. Let’s see what else they have in store for us.
