Way out West 2024 – with Fever Ray, Sundfør, Air and others – starts today

The annual outdoor festival Way out West in Release’s hometown Gothenburg has opened its gates for the 2024 edition.

Fever Ray, Susanne Sundfør, Air (playing “Moon Safari”), Nation of Language, PJ Harvey, Pulp, Olof Dreijer and El Perro del Mar (former Memento Materia act Sadovaja) are some of the artists performing, but there are also quite a few other “hip” names mixing up their sound with industrial, synthpop, electronica, new wave and what not.

WoW stands out from your average festival as it is located in Gothenburg’s most popular public park – complete with a free zoo with elks and penguins. It’s also one of the biggest and broadest Swedish festivals, and something of a music business gathering.
