Now it's definite: the new Nine Inch Nails single is entitled "The Day the World Went Away" and will be released on July 20. The Cure completes new album
The plans for a new The Cure album this year seems to be realized. The band is currently completing the recordings in a studio in England. The sound is said to be darker, in the "Pornography" style. Robert Smith has said that this probably will be The Cure's last album. We've heard that before, haven't we?
Eurorock beats everything
Funker Vogt is just one of over 50 acts at Eurorock - one of the largest festivals ever for fans of EBM, goth and similar styles.
The Belgian festival Eurorock in Neerpelt on August 6-8, has an extremely impressive line-up this year. More and more artists are being booked and the program is soon complete. So far over 50 acts have been booked and nearly all of them are famous acts in the alternative area. Most of them are in the EBM and/or gothic field. The main stage can take 25 000 people in the audience and the second stage 4 000.
Front 242, Paradise Lost, And One, Moonspell, Project Pitchfork, Das Ich, The Creatures, Goldie, Love Like Blood and Gary Numan are just some of the names that will come. Not to mention electro and gothic fans and music business people from all over the world. Check out On Stage for more on this.
Fields of the Nephilim comeback delayed

There have been lots of rumours going on about who will get the prestigious task to write the title song for the new James Bond movie, "The World Is Not Enough". Now it seems that Garbage is likely to win.
New Primal Scream album out next year
The Chemical Brothers.
Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream can be heard on the new Chemical Brothers album "Surrender", where he sings a duet with Bernard Sumner of New Order and Electronic in the track "Out of Control". However, the forthcoming Primal Scream album has been delayed, and is now expected out in February next year. /Kristoffer Noheden
Facts about the Bowie album
The new David Bowie album will be released later this year. Bowie has just finished recording it. This record will be more in the rock and pop tradition than the last ones. Bowie has worked with Reeves Gabrels, Mark Plati and Mike Levesque (Dave Navarro Band).
A taste of the new album can be found on the "Stigmata" soundtrack - the song "The Pretty Things Are Going to Hell".

Edel acquires Mega
The German indie giant Edel Music AG has acquired the Danish company Mega Scandinavia A/S, according to a press release dated June 22.
City Fanclub partly replaces Fanclub festival in Stockholm
The Stockholm festival Fanclub is cancelled - only two weeks before launch. This is due to financial problems, which originates from last year's festival.
But on Thursday the organizers announced that they will produce a one-day mini-Fanclub, called City Fanclub at Kajen/Kulturfabriken with Broder Daniel and many other of the original Fanclub artists.
It's still unclear whether or not they will try for a new, real Fanclub in the year 2000.
