The new Thåström album is here
The new album from Thåström, "Det är ni som e dom konstiga, det är jag som e normal", will be released on October 20, as previously reported. We have now listened to the ten-song album and can confirm that this is a down-to-earth, strong rock CD, far from the industrial sounds of Peace Love & Pitbulls.
- The album sounds extremly "much", he explains. There's loads of guitars, and the sound is very fat .
For the first time in ten years the former Swedish rock and punk icon sings in Swedish. During the nineties he has released three electro rock albums in English, in the band Peace Love and Pitbulls.
- It took me half a year before I completed a sentence in Swedish that worked. It's so close to to sing in your own language. You can't hide.
Several shows on the new tour are already sold out and one extra gig is organized in Stockholm. No doubt, a lot of old Thåström fans have waited for him to return to his roots. See also, On Stage. /Mikael Kahrle
Two new Skinny Puppy releases
Although Skinny Puppy seems to be dead (at least for now?), Nettwerk will release two new CD's with the legendary band on November 16.
First there will be a "Singles Collection" with all Skinny Puppy A-sides on one CD. Secondly, they will also compile a "B-sides Collection" with extra tracks and remixes from the singles. All songs will be digitally remastered. The singles and EP's that originally contained these tracks are now all deleted. /Mikael Kahrle

Since two months back, S.P.O.C.K's Christer "Crull-E" Hermodsson is in Nordhausen, Germany, to produce the new And One album with the working title "Virgin Superstars" (March 2000). The first single will be released in Germany in January or February. Frontman Steve Naghavi says the new sound will be reminiscent of the albums "Spot" and "I.S.T.".
He has also produced the new Cat Rapes Dog album "People as Prey" (October 18). The band is satisfied with his work. See also, On Record. /Jens Krause, Mikael Kahrle
DAF/DOS live album stopped
The DAF/DOS live album "Der Live-Staat" (October 18, TCM/SSC) is put on ice. The old original DAF Wintrup Musikverlag has stopped the release, since they consider the new live versions of the old DAF-hits to be cover versions instead of remixes. /Jens Krause
Details on the Kraftwerk Expo 2000 performance
We have previously written about the Kraftwerk world exposition Expo 2000 collaboration, but here are some more details:
The gig at the Expo 2000 will be held in a new built hall in Hannover, with capacity for 13 000 visitors. The ticktes are obviously hot, but the situation is complicated by the fact that Kraftwerk probably will announce more performances for next summer. Info, tickets for the Hannover gig and the rest of Expo 2000: international hotline, +49-0 2000. /Jens Krause
